It’s possible that you have.  Or someplace similar, with familiar people around.  They say we may have experienced hundreds – even thousands of past lives.  Our soul carries wisdom, memory, and purpose beyond a single lifetime.  It’s like a long, unfolding journey rather than a one-time event. We can’t help but feel a sense of awe at the possibility that the gifts we hold, the lessons we’re learning, and the people who feel instantly familiar may be echoes of experiences gathered long ago, guiding us gently toward greater understanding, healing, and awakening in this life. 

I have been fortunate enough to have learned of a few of my past lives. 

 – Like the one where I was a farm hand.  With a wife I had left behind while I went away to earn money I couldn’t seem to make at home. And what it was like to return home to her after living and working on this farm for a couple years. The family we created, the struggles we had. 

 – Or the life where I was a successful, single businesswoman in the wild west.  I bought and sold horses, and I was good at it.  Well respected in this man’s world. 

 – Or the one where I was a healer in a small village. I was deeply in touch with the plants and animals around me. People came to me at my home in the woods when they were sick, or troubled, or ready to give birth. But the men in power there didn’t appreciate what I did.  They would come out to try and “catch me in the act,” but I had always been forewarned by my friends in nature, and all they would find was an old woman, living simply alone in the woods. (This is one of my favorites).

Over the last few years I’ve had the honor of befriending Penny, our local psychic medium, and learning about past lives. What is interesting about Penny’s process is that she identifies past lives that are relevant to one’s current situation. It is both illuminating and thought provoking. In our readings she has helped me uncover shadows in my psyche. When I get to know those shadows I can engage with them and figure out how to not be at the mercy of them. Penny can do this quickly and in a group setting. Giving each person her attention and insights before moving on to the next person.
