Many healing practitioners study and draw upon the wisdom of the seven energetic chakras that run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The root, sacral, and solar plexus chakras represent the physical, primal human existence. The “I Am.” They lead up to the heart chakra which marries our material body with our spiritual being. With the throat, third eye, and crown chakras we can channel the energetic intelligence of the universe.
Each morning in my mind’s eye I walk up the spine of my body feeling into each of my buzzing chakras which together form a rainbow of love and light. Climbing the ladder, I recite the following aloud or in my mind:
I am ❤️
I feel 🧡
I dance 💛
I love 💚
I sing 🩵
I see 💙
I know 💜
I am not 🤍
I want the most benevolent outcome and I don’t know what it is. And not knowing is most intimate. I surrender to not knowing.
This meditation practice developed in tandem with a gratitude practice created by Lama Rod Owens called the Seven Homecomings. In it we give thanks for the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, Ancestors and Lineages, Earth, Silence, and Self. By giving thanks, I allow myself to take refuge from the craziness of my day-to-day life in guidance; nourishment of the mind; community and companionship; love, encouragement, and protection; impermanence; stillness; and connection to the eternal oneness. To the great source of all there is.
I offer these blessings to all beings. May we all become free from suffering. Lama Rod has a lot to say about getting free. His two books, Love & Rage and The New Saints, are at the top of my altar. They are my bibles. My dharma.
On Thursday, June 19 from 6-7pm, Sally Phelps and I invite you to gather at Chrysalis Healing Center for the first of many Monthly Spirit Talks. We will dig deeper into what I have gained from Lama Rod’s teachings. And we will share our meditation and prayer practices in sacred community.
We are all Spirit having a human experience. When we come home to our true nature as Spirit we can move about our life with more grace, ease, and equanimity.
